~~~ FANG JEWELS ~~~ Custom Maille Designs
    Welcome to my work bench! I, as you you have probably guessed, am Chain Maille Mike. Your humble servant in the crafting of mailles of all sorts. What is maille you ask? Maille is a general term for armor made from metal rings linked together into a mesh. But the term maille, or “mail” to some, is also used for the ornate chain patterns made by linking rings together... very carefully. It also applies to the linking of small metal plates to form a segmented cloth akin to snake skin or fish scales, which is called scale maille accordingly.
     Every since I learned the art of weaving metal into beautiful, supple, intricate and strong creations, I’ve been in love with the textures and feels of the end products. As soon as I started showing these shiny creations to my friends and family, I could see that they too saw the allure of the unique heft to a stainless steel piece of maille or the pleasant luster of different base metals patterned up a length of chain. So I began to create designs for any and all who were interested... and haven’t looked back since!
     Contained within these pages you will find the body of work that I’ve created over the years, many of which I try to keep in stock, otherwise I always keep the patterns close at hand. I also LOVE doing custom work as it tends to lead to beautiful creations, and customers getting exactly what they want (in a medium that doesn’t have much wiggle room).
 Accordingly, I am definitely open to make you favorite custom creations come true, I even have a long list of potential ideas that may make you dreams even better!
   So Please, Look around and see what strikes your fancy! Drop me an email with you ideas if you are interested in a custom creation, or have any other questions about designs, prices, or any other maille related topics!!
 Once you start assembling an almost infinite number of rings, the design possibilities become almost as variable. ~ Let’s explore the the possibilities together ~
I've been making maille since 2001 and if there's one thing I've learned... it's that Chain Maille does not protect from UV effectively, it just creates funky tan lines...trust me.
